ILMEA Vocal Audition Workshop 2024

    Join Dr. Eric Johnson, Director of Choral Activities at NIU and Cor Cantiamo’s Artistic Director, along with members of Cor Cantiamo, NIU’s ensemble in residence, for our ILMEA All-State Choir Audition Preparation Workshop! This year’s event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024 and is geared towards Illinois high school students. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. in the School of Music Concert Hall Lobby. 

    There is a $28 workshop pre-registration fee for this event. Paid online. Online registration deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024.

    The day includes: 

    • Large group rehearsal of the All-State Choir selections.
    • Small group rehearsals of selections from your school’s ILMEA District.
    • Scales and triad training to aid in audition preparation and strengthen students’ tonal skills.
