ILMEA Vocal Audition Workshop

Join Dr. Eric Johnson, Director of Choral Activities at NIU and Cor Cantiamo’s Artistic Director, along with members of Cor Cantiamo, NIU’s ensemble in residence, for an ILMEA All-State Choir Audition Preparation Workshop! This year’s event will be held on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023. Check-in begins at 8:30 AM in the School of Music Concert Hall Lobby. 

There is a $32 workshop pre-registration fee for this event. A link to the payment form will be sent in the confirmation email. Online registration deadline is Tuesday, September 19th, 2023.

The day includes: 
– Large group rehearsal of the All-State Choir selections.
– Small group rehearsals of selections from your school’s ILMEA District.
– Tips for quality video recording to prepare for online audition submissions.
– Scales and triad training to aid in audition preparation and strengthen students’ tonal skills.
