NIU Trumpet Day

Join NIU School of Music's Dr. Christopher Scanlon and Professor Pharez Whitted for a day dedicated to Trumpet players! Throughout the day you will participate in a group warm-up session, masterclass, ensemble rehearsal, learn more about NIU and the School of Music, and enjoy a special NIU faculty and student concert. You're also invited to attend our 7 p.m. concert - NIU Wind Ensemble featuring Dr. Scanlon Trumpet Soloist.  

Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. in the School of Music Concert Hall Lobby. Group warm-up begins at 10:00 a.m. There is a scheduled lunch break at 12:00 p.m. You are welcome to bring a sack lunch or visit any of the surrounding restaurants in DeKalb.

There is a $20 event registration fee. Please see the form for payment details.

Additionally, Mike Edwards from Windy City Trumpets will be available during the day with an exhibition of instruments/mouthpiece/mutes/cases and more for you to explore!
