University Honors Program New Freshman Retreat at Taft

The retreat takes place on NIU's Lorado Taft Field Campus in Oregon, IL, about 35 miles west of DeKalb IL. Session 1 is on August 19th, 9:00am-4:00pm. Session 2 is on August 20th, 9:00am-4:00pm. The $70 fee includes bus transportation from campus to the retreat and back, lunch, and snacks. Please note that space is limited due to COVID-19 rules. Sign up soon!

Honors staff and student leaders will make sure you start to make a home in the Honors Program and get to know your fellow incoming Honors students.

Special move-in dates and times will be communicated to you so that you can participate in our events. Students will be able stay in their residence hall after they return from the retreat.

The $70 fee, which covers transportation, lunch, and snacks at the Honors Retreat will be automatically added to your NIU Bursar's account after the event. Institutional scholarships and grants as well as federal or state grants and loans may not be used to pay this fee. Private scholarships, if there are no restrictions, or private loans may be used.
