NIU Rockford Area Huskies' Send Off

The NIU Rockford Alumni Club and NIU Foundation are gathering first-time and returning students and alumni for our Rockford Area Huskie Send-Off. We invite you and your family to join us! The celebration takes place from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 16 at the Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens. After the event enjoy complimentary access to the conservatory until 3 p.m. This event will feature local alumna Carla Redd, '93. Redd was hired as Rockford's first Black and first Female police chief in August of 2021.

This event will give incoming Huskies the opportunity to eat a picnic-style lunch while you connect with alumni in the community, staff from the Office of Orientation and First-Year Programs, and everyone’s favorite Huskie and NIU mascot, Mission. Incoming students, Rockford Promise, and David and Diane Graf Endowed Scholarship recipients will receive recognition at the event.
