Hello New Huskie, this survey is designed to match you to a NIU mentoring program that fits you best!

Please fill out the following information to help us get to know you and your goals.
Some mentoring programs may have specific requirements, so we will be asking a few personal questions related to how you identify yourself. We ask that you fill out the form completely and honestly.
We will use this information to understand who you are and how we can best meet your needs through a mentorship program.
We will not release any information to an NIU mentor unless you give us permission.
Mentoring program coordinators will contact you shortly after you complete this survey with information about your matches.

Mentoring Programs

NIU has many mentoring opportunities including, but not limited to those listed below. All information provided in this survey will help us match you in a program or group. Of the following, please check the programs that interest you (select all that apply). Click here to learn more about each mentoring program.

Student Faculty Links: First-year freshman and transfer students are paired with a faculty or staff mentor in their field of study.

Transfer2Transfer: A peer mentor program specifically for Transfer students.

OHANA Peer Mentor Program: Assists first-year Asian American students with their college transition and academic success.

Black Student Achievement Program: Provides mentorship and retention initiatives connecting Black freshman students with successful Black upperclassmen within the same majors.

METAS: Assist first-year Latino/a/x freshmen or transfer students with their transition to college.

Supporting Opportunities for Latinos (SoL): Primarily for male Latino students to assist with success throughout college.

Black Male Initiative: A mentoring organization focused on the graduation process of its participants. Primarily for African-American students.

P.R.O.G.R.E.S.S. Peer Mentoring Program: Sponsored by CHANCE, this program pairs first-year students up with mentors and provides academic and social support as they transition to college life.
