The SMDC is for theatre technicians to test their knowledge and skills in a competitive environment through Purdue University. We have designed and 3D printed a petal pushing device for this year's Petal Drop challenge. For this class, we will talk about what the SMDC is, our ideas for the project, how we made it, and then run the machine.

Rediscover the timeless nature of classical Greco-Roman drama through this directing and devising workshop. We'll examine modern productions of ancient texts, practice conceptualizing heightened texts, and then stage them! Groups will stage versions in both the original translations as well as devise the scene into their own words.
